Astana, Kazakhstan, June 10
By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

Fewer patients need treatment abroad, due to the introduction of high technologies in the field of medicine in Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh Minister of Health Salidat Kairbekova made the remarks at the briefing held at the Central Communications Service under President of Kazakhstan.

"Due to the fact that we have introduced high technology, we sent our patients abroad less. Treatment abroad, let`s say, for example, kidney transplantation, worth 4.5 million tenge (183.51 tenge = 1$). Today we are implementing kidney transplantion in Kazakhstan and pay our clinics 2.1 million tenge," she said.

Kairbekova added that instead of one patient we can help a few people for this amount here.

"There is a procedure, which we call the endovascular embolization of cerebral vessels. This procedure costs 11.7 million tenge abroad. We pay 2.7 million tenge in Kazakhstan. Here we have a highly skilled technology," the minister said.
