The issues on carrying out radar reconnaissance will be worked out by the armed forces of CIS member states, during the Combat Commonwealth 2015 exercise, Kazakhstan's Defense Ministry said on July 28.

"It is planned to hold the joint exercise of armed forces of CIS member states, dubbed Combat Commonwealth 2015, from June to September 2015. The exercise is aimed at fulfilling the frequent tasks on the collaboration between the units of air defense and air forces," the ministry said.

During the tactical exercise, the radio-radar units will work out the issues related to carrying out the radar reconnaissance, as well as detecting a symbolical enemy in the air and targeting, according to the ministry.

The decision on the number of the troops to take part in the Combat Commonwealth 2015 exercise will be made in accordance with each case after the next meeting of the coordinating committees.

"It is planned to hold the first stage of the exercise in the Ashuluk landfill of the Russian Federation in June-July 2015. The first stage will involve the units of the Air Force of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan," Kazakh Defense Ministry said.

The second phase is expected to be held in the Sary-Shagan landfill of Kazakhstan in August-September 2015.

Astana hosted the meeting of the council of defense ministers of CIS countries with participation of delegations from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in early July.

The meeting participants discussed the issues related to the research in the field of air defense, military education, development of military-applied sports, as well as human and financial security.

CIS defense ministers also approved the joint action plan of the armed forces for 2015, including the Combat Commonwealth-2015.
