Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had a telephone conversation, according to the Kazakh presidential service.

The presidents of the two countries discussed the situation in Ukraine and the possibility of holding a meeting of the Russian, Kazakh, Belarusian and Ukrainian presidents, according to the report.

During the meeting, Nazarbayev and Lukashenko also discussed the Kazakh-Belarusian cooperation. Moreover, they exchanged the views on the development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), including the ratification of the agreement on EEU and the accession of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the EEU in Astana on May 29, which will come into force from January 1, 2015. Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have already voiced their intention to join the EEU.
