Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed the deputy ministers of defense and interior, according to a message from the press service of the Kazakh president.

"Sauranbayev Nurlan Yermekovich [is appointed] - the deputy minister of defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Bozhko Vladimir Karpovich - the deputy minister of internal affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the press service said.

Bozhko previously served as the minister of emergency situations, while Sauranbayev was the vice-minister of industry and new technologies.

During the Kazakh government's expanded meeting, held last week, the country's president announced the government's reorganization.

"... Now it is needed to create an effective system of public administration. A compact government is needed," the head of state said.

Kazakhstan's new government will include heads of 12 ministries and about 30 committees.
