Monitoring of scale and nature of gender violence showed that 83 percent of women in Kyrgyzstan face violence on the ongoing basis, Alexandra Eliferenko, director of the Crisis Centers Association (CCA) told 24.kg on Tuesday.
According to the survey, 29 percent of women regularly suffer from physical abuse from their husbands and live-ins, while 11 percent face irreparable harm. In course of the research experts questioned housewives, state officials, private entrepreneurs, civil servants and unemployed women. Unfortunately, 4 women of 100 face violence daily, 17 women - from 2 to 4 times a month, 23 women - once a month and over 50 suffer from various types of violence several times a year.
Meantime, 24 percent of the respondents got married against their will, whereof 99 women divorced their husbands on the reason of ill treatment.
