Russia, the US and Kazakhstan allocated $3.4 million for improvement of potential of Kyrgyzstan's State Service for Drug Control, 24kg reported referring to goverment press service.

The decision was taken as a result of a meeting of Almazbek Atambayev, Kyrgyz Prime Minister with Yury Fedotov, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Atambayev stressed that due to upsurge of terrorist activities, Kyrgyzstan places importance on reformation and improvement of intelligence agency's work, which counters terrorism and extremism.

Fedotov, in his turn, said that the joint project to combat drug trafficking was his first project in this position and supported the head of the Kyrgyz government in an effort to extend cooperation.

"UNODC will continue to support the Kyrgyz Republic through the supply of equipment and machinery. Especially, taking into consideration the existence of the legal platform for our cooperation," he said.

Parties signed the document on "Improvement of potential of State Service for Drug Control of the Kyrgyz Republic. Stage I", the press service reported .
