The European Union is ready to support the development of Kyrgyzstan, Paolo Bartolozzi, head of the European Parliament's Delegation for Central Asia said on Wednesday, Kyrgyz presidential press-service reported.
"Kyrgyzstan is the only parliamentary republic in the Central Asia and it impressed the international community with its ability to comply with democratic principles," he said.
"The country is going through an important historical period and the EU will provide the country with any assistance on the way of its development," he added.
Bartolozzi heads the delegation of the European Parliament, which met with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atmbayev on Wednesday.
At the meeting with the European delegation, Kyrgyz President expressed its interest in the boosting relations with the EU countries and stressed the importance of starting practical cooperation.
