Abdylda Suranchiev has been appointed as Kyrgyz Acting Interior Minister. The decree was signed by Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev on Friday, the presidential press service said today, KirTAG reported.
'The Kyrgyz Prime Minister's proposal must be accepted and Abdylda Suranchiev must be appointed as Acting Interior Minister until parliament approves his candidacy', the decree said.
The governmental press service told KirTAG on Friday that at the moment, the head of government is introducing a new interior minister to the staff.
The press service did not announce the reason for dismissing former Interior Minister Shamil Atahanov. According to some reports, Atakhanov will be appointed to the post of deputy prime minister.
It should be stressed that new minister is 64 years old. He is a police major-general. Previously he served as Kyrgyz Interior Minister.
