Kyrgyzstan's Palament approved the resignation of the country's National Bank chairman Zina Asankozhoeva at its meeting on April 16, Tazabek reported.

Asankozhoeva said that she was stepping down as chairman of National Bank for family reasons.

She also stressed that the bank has achieved much over the last three years by joint efforts.

In particular, inflation has not exceeded the declared indicator; Kyrgyzstan's gold reserves reached almost $2 billion; commercial banks' assets have increased almost twice; interest rates are declining, the approach to monetary and credit policy is being reformed.

In January, 2011 Asankozhoeva was appointed as Deputy Chairman of the National Bank.

In July 2011, she was elected to the post of chairman of the National Bank.
