An avalanche in Tajikistan has killed eight people, a civil protection spokesman said Thursday, DPA reported.
The accident happened on a mountain road 70 kilometres north of the capital Dushanbe in the central Asian republic.
"The passengers were pushing an abandoned car out of the way when the avalanche was set off," he said.
At least two men were saved.
Three people were killed by a rock slide on the same street just a few days before.
