Tajikistan is considering two different routes of inter-country section of the Tajikistan-Turkmenistan-Afghanistan railway, Avesta.Tj reported with the reference to Tajik Railways head Amonullo Khukumov.

The first of these routes envisages construction of a 50 kilometer long section of the railway from Djaloliddin Rumi to Nizhny Panj and an 800 meters long railway bridge over Panj River. The project of the second route which should be much shorter is under development.

"After making a final decision on the route and developing the feasibility study of the project, we will start to negotiate with investors and creditors to implement it," he said.

The Afghan section of the Tajikistan-Turkmenistan-Afghanistan railway will be the longest and its length will hit 500 kilometers. Some 90 kilometers of the railway will run over Turkmenistan's territory.

The memorandum on the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway
was signed in Ashgabat on March 20 within the meeting of the presidents of the three countries.
