Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov has paid a three-day visit to Tokyo (Japan) Dec.16.
He is scheduled to hold business meetings and negotiations on the top,
The sides intend to sign a solid package of intergovernmental documents, which will expand the traditional Turkmen-Japanese cooperation boundaries," the principles of equality, respect and mutual benefit," an official governmental statement said.
The fuel and energy, transport infrastructure, telecommunications, textile industry, and construction are perspective fields for cooperation
"Turkmenistan attaches importance to building a fruitful interaction with Japan - the world leader in the economy and advanced technologies," Berdimuhamedov said
Berdimuhamedov charged all the Turkmen delegation's managers to hold substantive negotiations with Japanese partners.
The legal basis of cooperation between the two countries currently includes 20 international instruments. Over the twenty investment projects are realized with participation of Japanese capital. The part of the projects has been implemented.
The Turkmen products export increased by 20 percent in early 2009 as compared to the same period of 2008. This is why the Japanese business partners are increasing their interest for goods produced in Turkmenistan
