President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is on a government visit in Turkmenistan (September 3-4 ) discussed regional issues and the most important aspects of international cooperation on Tuesday in Ashgabat, a source close to the talks reported.
The sides traditionally emphasized that the positions of the two countries on many regional and international issues coincide.
In 2008 and 2013 the Chinese side, acting as a co-author, twice supported UN resolution "Reliable and Stable Transit of Energy Resources and Its Role in Ensuring Sustainable Development and International Cooperation" initiated by Turkmenistan.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Turkmenistan Xiao Qinghua, said in an interview to state news service Turkmen dovlet khabarlary that "strategic objectives put forward by the leaders of the two countries deeply coincide."
"Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward the concept of the Chinese dream in order to achieve the great revival of the Chinese nation, and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov put forward the idea of the epoch of power and happiness," the ambassador said.
