During his official visit in Japan that starts on September 11, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will hold negotiations with Emperor Akihito and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and will meet with some leaders of major Japanese companies, Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary (TDH) State News Service statement said on Wednesday.
"That will mark a new milestone in the history of the Turkmen-Japanese business partnership, in front of which, considering the existing mutual interest and complementarity of national economies, promising prospects open up," the statement said.
As the result of the visit is planned to sign a large package of bilateral documents. In particular, this list includes documents aimed at deepening cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, which is the strategic direction of the Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.
It is about the proposal of Japanese side on the possible participation in the construction in Turkmenistan of plants producing polyethylene, polypropylene, sulfuric acid and other industrial products, as well as other promising joint projects.
During the visit it is planned to hold joint business forum.
"Japan is one of the leading trade partners of Turkmenistan in the Asia-Pacific region," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov told Japanese journalists ahead of the visit in Tokyo.
In his opinion, the trade cooperation between the two countries must be based on the improvement of commodity structure and increase in imports of high-tech equipment for the implementation of large investment projects being implemented or planned in Turkmenistan.
