By Huseyn Hasanov - Trend: The Presidents of Belarus and Turkmenistan Alexander Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov after talks in Ashgabat issued a joint statement on deepening friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, the Belarusian presidential press service said in its statement on Wednesday.
The statement noted high dynamics of the political inter-state dialogue and gave a positive evaluation of the implementation of previous agreements and signed documents.
In addition, Turkmenistan and Belarus signed a package of documents on cooperative development between the two countries in various fields. It is expected that the implementation of all the agreements will bring significant economic benefits, the Belarusian presidential press service said in its statement.
The government and National Bank of Belarus and the government and the Central Bank of Turkmenistan signed an agreement on settlement of mutual obligations and financial requirements.
The sides also signed an agreement on cooperation between the National Bank of Belarus and the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
A memorandum was signed between the two governments on cooperation in the field of healthcare, medical (pharmaceutical) science, education and the provision of health care services to citizens of Belarus and Turkmenistan.
A cooperation programme for 2014-2015 was signed in the field of physical culture and sports, tourism and between the foreign ministries.
In the sphere of science and education, the bilateral legal framework was enriched by a programme of cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan in the field of science and technology, the agreement on scientific and technical cooperation between the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials NAS of Belarus and the Institute of Chemistry as well as the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The parties also signed an agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian State University and the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.
In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between OJSC Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange and the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
