By Huseyn Hasanov - Trend: The twenty-second session of the Majlis (the Turkmen Parliament) of the fourth convocation will start in Ashgabat on November 9, 2013, a parliamentary report said on Saturday.

Several new bills, including those relating to the activity of trade unions, academic institutions, daikhan (peasant) households, as well as certification issues will be discussed at the session.

According to the information, chairperson of the Majlis Akja Nurberdiyeva informed the government about the deputies' activity to improve the country's legislation.

According to the Turkmen constitution, the parliament passes laws, makes changes and additions to the Constitution of Turkmenistan, approves the state budget, addresses questions on holding referendums and announces presidential and parliamentary elections.

It also considers issues the appointment and dismissal of the chief of the Supreme Court, attorney general, interior minister and minister of justice and ratifies and terminates international treaties, addresses issues on changes of state borders and the administrative-territorial division of Turkmenistan.
