The European Ministerial Conference of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases opens in Ashgabat on Dec.3, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
The conference is organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and hosted by the Government of Turkmenistan.
The forum will be attended by Health Ministers of the WHO European Region countries.
At the end of the forum the Ashgabat Declaration will be adopted. It will reflect the commitment to working together on prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in the European region.
"This will be an important step in the implementation of the WHO Global Plan for Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (2013-2020)," the article said.
Turkmenistan joined the WHO in 1992.
