Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his South Korean counterpart Park Geun-hye reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing full partnership, a message from the Turkmen government said.

South Korean president arrived in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on June 20 with a two-day visit.

"The two sides emphasized such spheres as trade, economy, transport, energy, high technologies among the key areas of cooperation," the government message said.

During the meeting, the presidents exchanged views on a number of topical regional and international policy issues of mutual interest.

Following the negotiations in an expanded format, they signed a package of bilateral documents.

The visit of Park Geun-hye is another effective step towards establishing a mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and South Korea, Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary state news service said.

The strengthening of constructive relations with Asian countries, including the Asia-Pacific region, is among the foreign policy priorities of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan regards South Korea as an important and reliable partner, the cooperation with which is built on the equal and long-term basis, Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary said.
