Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynov is on a working visit to Ashgabat to attend the meeting of the joint commission on economic cooperation, the message from the Turkmen government said.
The protocol is planned to be signed in accordance with the results of the commission's work. Fuel and energy sector, transport, construction, textile, agriculture and trade are defined as promising areas of cooperation.
"About two dozen of jointly realized investment projects have been registered in Turkmenistan, mutual trade turnover is growing, including by means of increasing volume of exports of Turkmen oil products, cotton fiber, cotton yarn and fabrics, ready-made clothing products," the report said.
The parties exchanged views on mutual protection of investments, taxation, partnership in the field of international freight and passenger traffic during the meeting of the commission.
Furthermore, they discussed the possibility of cooperation in joint projects on the facilities of maritime transport and energy infrastructure.
Ashgabat and Sofia periodically discuss the possibilities of Turkmen gas supplies to Bulgaria.
In particular, the sides discuss ways of implementing the project on laying Trans Caspian gas pipeline to the coast of Azerbaijan, where Turkmen gas can be delivered to Turkey, Bulgaria and other countries of the European continent.
