A loaf of bread weighing 600 grams, the most popular among the population, has risen in price by 10 percent - to 550 soums compared to previous 500 soums in Uzbekistan since Sept. 25.
The prices on other sorts of bread in Uzbekistan are not regulated.
The bread price previously increased in October last year.
Then the cost of a loaf has risen by 25 percent - from 400 soums to 500 soums.
It was previously reported that the tariffs for central heating and hot water will be increased by 9 percent, cold water - by 8.4 percent, electricity - by 7 percent in Uzbekistan from Oct. 1.
The official exchange rate is 1.938.60/$ 1 on Sept. 26.
