The actual issues of bilateral relations as well as prospects of cooperation development in the political and diplomatic, economic, investment and cultural humanitarian fields were discussed in Paris by the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and France Abdulaziz Kamilov and Laurent Fabius, Uzbek Foreign Ministry press service reported.
The foreign ministers exchanged opinions on international and regional issues, as well as on the situation in Afghanistan and some other issues.
A regular round of political consultations and negotiations in a number of ministries and departments took place during Kamilov's visit to France.
The practical issues of cooperation with development were discussed at the meetings with the senator and chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, France - Central Asia, Andre Dyule with the President of the French Institute of International Relations Thierry de Montbrial.
The Uzbek delegation took part in the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) business forum.
It was noted that the concurrence and similarity of the two countries' position on general international and regional problems, developing inter-parliamentary relations, the existing potential for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, the great interest of the community and humanitarian instates of both countries to mutual exchange, are a stable fundamental for broadening Uzbek French dialogue.
The parties discussed mutual interest in cooperative development between the business community of both countries, realization of joint projects in such directions as the production of electronic and technical goods, oil and chemical industry, pharmaceuticals and medicaments, perfumes and cosmetics. The French businessmen are interested in privileges and preferences granted to investors in the Navoi and Angren special economic zones.
Fabius was given an official invitation to visit Uzbekistan which was gratefully accepted.
An agreement on cooperation between the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan and National Administration School of France was signed.
