In connection with the completion of the mission, on Friday the Swiss Ambassador Ann Boti was received by management of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the press service of the Foreign ministry said.
Ann Boti worked as ambassador to Uzbekistan since February 2009.
During the meeting it was noted that the active Uzbek-Swiss dialogue on political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres of interaction meets the interest of both countries.
The parties discussed the current state and future directions of the bilateral relations, a number of major international and regional issues, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry thanked Ann Boti for constructive cooperation.
Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Switzerland were established in 1992. The main areas of bilateral cooperation are determined at regular meetings of the Uzbek-Swiss intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
Economic and trade relations of Uzbekistan and Switzerland are regulated by a number of intergovernmental agreements, including those on trade, economic, technical and financial cooperation, encouragement and mutual protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation and preventing tax evasion on income and capital, on international road transport shipment of passengers and cargo of the two states.
The Swiss Government also contributes to Uzbekistan in the sphere of entrepreneurship and small private businesses.
Uzbek-Swiss trade turnover amounted to $107.1 million in 2011.
Currently 95 companies with Swiss capital, including 68 joint ventures and 27 wholly owned companies with Swiss capital have been operating in Uzbekistan. Some 35 Swiss firms and companies are accredited under the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan.
