Leadership of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry and a delegation of the U.S. congressmen, who arrived in Tashkent, discussed state and prospects of further enhancing of bilateral relations, Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said on Tuesday.
The U.S. delegation included Chairman of the U.S. House Subcommittee on Europe and Eurasia, Dana Rohrabacher, Congressmen Paul Cook, Ted Poe and Brian Higgins.
During a meeting at the Foreign Ministry, the parties stressed that the level of cooperation between legislators of the two countries "have a direct impact on all other areas of dynamically developing Uzbek-American dialogue."
The parties exchanged views on urgent international and regional issues.
The meeting was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Krol.
A visit program of the delegation of U.S. congressmen envisages meetings in the parliament and the government of Uzbekistan, as well as with representatives of public organizations.
