Uzbekistan supports the deeply considered and balanced policy of Chinese government, Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov said on Monday at a joint briefing on the results of the Uzbek-Chinese summit talks.
"Uzbekistan firmly and consistently supports deeply considered and balanced policy of the Chinese leadership, its principal position on one China, including Taiwan and Tibet, its uncompromising struggle against the 'three evils' - terrorism, extremism and separatism," Uzbek President said.
Uzbek-Chinese summit talks were held on Monday within the framework of the first state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Uzbekistan.
"I believe that today the problems, which are related to the increasing destabilization, radicalization, confrontation and tension in some regions, retraction of the external forces and blocs in internal conflicts in unstable countries, cause a major concern in the world," Karimov said.
According to Uzbek President, one of these problems is the continuing confrontation, suspense and ambiguity in settlement of Afghan war, which has lasted for over 30 years.
"Today it is clear that there is no military solution to Afghan problem. In our view, the only right way is the political decision, the path of negotiations under the auspices of the UN, as well as reaching the consensus of opposing forces," President of Uzbekistan said.
