Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan this week, the Indian Foreign Ministry press service said on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, Salman Khurshid will pay official visits to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan from September 12 to September 15.
On September 13, the Indian Foreign Minister will attend a meeting of the council of the heads of states , members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Bishkek. India has an observer status in SCO.
During the visit to Uzbekistan, Salman Khurshid will hold negotiations with Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and will attend a meeting of the Indian ambassadors to the region.
Besides the member states SCO, heads, leaders of the observer states which include Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan and the heads of dialogue partners such as Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka will also attend the Bishkek Summit.
