Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan agree to simplify state border regime

Heads of the Uzbek and Kyrgyz border departments agreed to bring about unhindered movement of Uzbek citizens through the Kholmien (Uzbekistan) - Joshuk (Kyrgyzstan) simplified border crossing points and the residents of the settlement through the Rishton (Uzbekistan) - Kaytpas (Kyrgyzstan) checkpoints, the State Border Protection Committee of the Uzbek National Security Service said today.

Heads of the Uzbek and Kyrgyz border departments agreed to bring about unhindered movement of Uzbek citizens through the Kholmien (Uzbekistan) - Joshuk (Kyrgyzstan) simplified border crossing points and the residents of the settlement through the Rishton (Uzbekistan) - Kaytpas (Kyrgyzstan) checkpoints, the State Border Protection Committee of the Uzbek National Security Service said today.

The parties discussed the current situation on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border, as well as the issue of preventing the checks and other provocative actions against residents of Sokha region while moving through the Vuadil - Kadamjay - Chashma road.

The parties also agreed to permit local residents of the Chunkara settlement (Uzbekistan) to travel in the direction of the Vuadil settlement.
