Uzbek President Islam Karimov approved an intergovernmental Uzbek-Romanian agreement on economic, industrial and technical cooperation by his decree.
The Uzbek head ordered the Foreign Ministry to send a notification about the implementation of instate procedures by Uzbekistan necessary for the international agreement's entry.
The agreement was signed in June 2013 during the official visit of the Romanian Prime Minister Victor-Viorel Ponta to Uzbekistan.
As a result of negotiations between the Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Romania on the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, an agreement was reached on the creation of an intergovernmental commission for economic, industrial and technical cooperation.
There is a most favoured nation trading partnership between Uzbekistan and Romania. The countries have signed over 10 agreements on mutual cooperation in trade, economic, scientific- technical, transport, culture, science and tourism sectors.
