The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved the program on the preparation of draft laws for 2014.

The Uzbek government plans to finalize and submit 16 draft laws to the parliament by the end of 2014, a source in the government quoted the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Particularly, a draft law envisaging amendments to the existing legislation in connection with strengthening private property rights, the draft laws "On Bankruptcy", "Electronic commerce" (revised) "The protection of children from information, putting harmful effect on their physical and spiritual development", "On physical Culture and Sports" (revised), will be introduced Legislative (lower) chamber of the parliament by the end of April.

It is scheduled to finalize the draft laws "On Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population" "On Mortgage Securities," "On securitization" in April- May.

The draft law "On electronic government" will be prepared for submission to the Parliament in July - August, and the amendments to the Law "On Education" - in August - September.

Completion of work on the amendments to the law on the prevention of iodine deficiency disorders and a draft law "On Veterinary Medicine" (revised), amendments to the Civil Code, stipulating in particular the protection of intellectual property, is scheduled for October - November.

The government will also prepare a draft law "On Fundamentals of the State Youth Policy in the Republic of Uzbekistan" (revised), amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, providing increased responsibility for alcohol and tobacco use in public places, as well as amendments to the law "On medicine and pharmaceutical activities", in order to improve regulation in the pharmaceutical industry by the end of the year.
