Three U.S. citizens arrested on Iran-Iraq border are accused of spying, said the prosecutor of Tehran city, Abbas Jafari Dovlatabadi, IRNA news agency reported.

According to him, at present their case is under investigation, and the decision with regards to three U.S. citizens will be made soon.

Three U.S. nationals were arrested in early August in the city of Marivan, located in western Iran. It was reported that crossing the border of Iraq, they got into Iran by mistake.
