The A/H1N1 virus killed 14 schoolchildren and three high school students last week, Iranian Parliamentary Science and Education Committee Chairman Ali Karim Firuzjayi was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.
According to the official, the committee monitors the virus' spread in educational institutions.
The Iranian Health Ministry's Center for Infectious Diseases reported Nov. 1 that there have been 58 swine flu deaths in the country. The number of cases has risen from 2,153 to 2,662.
The first swine flu case in Iran was registered July 14, the Irna news agency reported.
