Asar pipeline blasts in Iran (UPDATED)

Today the Asar pipeline's pumping section located in the Iranian Poldokhtar city blasted, Lorestan Province Emergency Situations Organization Head Rza Eryany was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency

Presently, the huge fire covered the region. Firemen and pipeline's employees cannot manage with the fire

Badamak village residents were evacuated due to the proximity of the fire, he added

The fire was caused by the petrol leakage from 20-inch pipeline, Poldokhtar city Emergency Situations Organization reported

The fire spread to two kilometers along the pipeline length and to 12 meters from it. The fire started at 1:00 p.m. The reason for the petrol leakage became pipeline corrosion. The fire has spread over to the forest.

At present relevant agencies evaluates damage costs 

No causalities were reported
