Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will pay a visit to Turkmenistan in early January, the Iranian Fars news agency reported.

"Ahmadinejad will pay a visit to Turkmenistan Jan.5-6, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Mohammad Reza Furgani said.

During his visit, the president will sign several documents on development of bilateral relations, Furgani said.  The president will also attend the opening ceremony of the second pipeline that will deliver the Turkmen gas to Iran, he added.  

Ahmadinejad will pay a visit to Tajikistan Jan.6-7, Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Aliasgar Sherdust was quoted as saying by agency.

During his visit, the president is expected to meet with the Tajik officials. The officials of two countries are expected to sign agreements on cooperation in various fields, as well as to mull a joint investment projects between Tajikistan and Iran.
