Iran is closely observing the actions of several countries in regards to the Iranian people, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted as saying by the Isna news agency. The country has already launched an investigation into this matter, he said.
According to the official, several countries are involved in the recent clashes in Tehran.
"In this regard, the ambassador will be summoned to the Foreign Ministry, where the ministry will protest against his country's interference in Iran's internal affairs," he added.
According to Mehmanparas, several journalists were arrested in connection with illegal activities during the recent Ashura Day riots in Tehran.
"They acted illegally. They must conduct their activities after consulting the Iranian Culture Ministry," he said.
Opposition supporters and police clashed on Ashura Day in Tehran. According to international news agencies, the riots resulted in the deaths of 15 people. Police arrested 550 people. According to the official information, the clashes killed eight people and 300 people arrested.
