Ahmadinejad calls for regional cooperation to prevent foreign powers' interference

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on regional countries to cooperate to prevent the interference of foreign powers, ISNA agency said.

"We are interested in developing relations with Georgia in all possible areas," Ahmadinejad said during a meeting with Georgia's Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze in Tehran on Monday.

All regional problems can be solved within the cooperation between the countries, he said.

Then Ahmadinejad said that Western countries pursue their interests by intervening in the internal affairs of countries in the region. But they will not get any benefit from this.

In his turn, Grigol Vashadze said that Georgia will not take any action against Iran, even if it signs the documents of various international organizations.

He also called for strengthening the bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Grigol Vashadze participated in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki on Monday.
