Iran's mission at the United Nations said that allegations made by some members of the Security Council against Iran's peaceful nuclear program were baseless, provocative and non-constructive, IRNA reported.
In a press release issued on Monday, the Islamic Republic of Iran's mission at the UN voiced Tehran's full readiness for continued discussions with the Group 5+1 based on mutual respect.
"On the issue of fuel swap, Tehran reacted positively to efforts made by Turkey and Brazil by issuing Tehran Declaration," the press release added.
The Islamic Republic believes that the Tehran Declaration has paved the way for establishment of bilateral cooperation based on confidence building aimed at providing fuel for Tehran research reactor, it reiterated.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully committed to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and is determined to continue its full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) within the framework of safeguards," the press release further said.
Tehran is also seriously determined to defend its legitimate right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy within the framework of the NPT, it said, stressing that Tehran will never bow to pressures being exerted by certain countries.
The UN Security Council met Monday on how to implement sanctions it adopted against Iran.
In a formal meeting, the 15-member council received a report on the implementation of all penalties approved against Iran and of a panel of experts to ensure states apply the punitive measures.
