IRI parliament speaker Ali Larijani said Sunday Iran finds no common ground for talks with the United States, IRIB news agency reported.
Speaking to an open session of parliament, Larijani said the US officials seek to drive a wedge in the solid rank of Iranians by their offer of talk, adding that an offer for negotiations following a set of anti-Iranian sanctions is scandalous in nature.
Larijani called on the nation to know the US scheme and avoid being played into its deception.
He said the Iranian nation knows the US has adopted a policy of procrastination towards the nation at different junctures of the Islamic revolution.
Touching on an offer by US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton for talks over Afghanistan, Larijani said "we are against the very invasion of Afghanistan by the US and NATO; we thus have no common ground for talk."
"The Islamic Consultative Assembly closely watches over the US conduct and stances," Larijani said.
