Forty percent of public servants in Tehran have to work from home due to crippling traffic jams, MEHR news agency quoted the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as saying.
Ahmadinejad said he will address the problem of traffic congestion in the in the city. The population of Tehran recently topped 14 million people.
Earlier, Ahmadinejad said at an event about Tehran's recent earthquake that 191 companies and 57,000 public servants (40 percent) have to work outside of Tehran.
He added that a plan should be implemented in the near future.
