The opening of two centers operating on recently developed Iranian high-tech computers was held on Wednesday at Tehran's Amir Kabir University and the Industrial University of Isfahan, the Iranian television Iribnews.ir official website reported.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and members of the Cabinet of Ministers attended the ceremony.

A videoconference was organized between the centers.

The creation of a supercomputer in Iran in early February was also announced. The speed of its microprocessor is 34,000 MHz.

The Iranian deputy president for science and technology, Salar Amuli, said a national computer will be ready for use this year. It will enter the top 500 most powerful computers in the world.
"Developing a supercomputer will renovate science and technology in the country. The supercomputer will be used in the field of seismology, defense, and nuclear physics, and to solve various issues," Amuli said.
