The Basij deputy commander has announced that the volunteer Basij forces plan to launch cyber attacks against the "enemies of the Islamic Revolution", Mehr news agency reported.
"As we are targeted by the cyber attacks, our cyber forces consisting of experts, professors, students, and seminary students will attack the enemies' websites," Brigadier General Ali Fazli told the Mehr News Agency on Sunday.
Elaborating on the activities of the Basiji forces to counter the cyber threats, he said it is the Basij organization's policy to mobilize a powerful cyber army to repel the enemies' cyber attacks.
He added that the Basij organization is not able to monitor the activities of the enemies without using the capabilities of the expert Basijis.
Previously, Deputy Chairman of Iran's Joint Chiefs of Staff Mohammad Hejazi had said that Iran will take pre-emptive cyber action against the centres which launch cyber attacks against the Iranian facilities.
Basij is a voluntary militia that takes its orders from Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
