Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base received mass-produced surface-to-air "Shalamcheh" missiles in presence of Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, ISNA reported.
"The mid-range missile could be used in short-range as well. It can target objective, acts strongly is electronic warfare and is equipped with the world's up-dated technology," Iranian Defense Minister said in the delivery ceremony.
"Shalamcheh missile possesses the range of 40 km and its range could be raised in models to be presented soon. The missile is more prepared and up-dated comparing to its foreign models," he added.
"We have gained self-sufficiency in short-range air defense," he continued.
