Chinese President Hu Jintao thanked Islamic Republic of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Iranian government for their enhanced relations with China, IRNA reported.
President Hu made the remarks after an official welcoming ceremony held for President Ahmadinejad and his accompanying delegation.
He said that after the election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as president, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been favoring enhancing diplomatic ties with China.
President Ahmadinejad for his part said that the progress made by China in different areas, including economy, technology and sciences has made the Iranian government and people happy.
"We are sure that such progresses are made due to the efforts of President Hu," the president added.
He described Tehran-Beijing relation based on mutual friendship.
