Algeria urges to promote parliamentary cooperation with Iran

Algerian Speaker of House of Representatives Mohammad Al-Arabi Ould Khalifa called for promoting parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Algeria, IRNA reported.

In a meeting with the Iranian Vice President for Implementing Constitution Seyyed Mohammad Reza Tajeddini, he presented a report on holding parliamentary elections and reforms in the formation of the new chamber.

He also congratulated reelection of Ali Larijani as the speaker of the ninth Majlis (parliament) in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ould Khalifa also wished success for Larijani and all his deputies.

Stressing the need to promote bilateral ties in all fields, the Algerian speaker also said that Iran actively participated in Cultural Week in Telmesan (cultural capital of Islamic world last year).

Referring to the establishment of Persian language seat in Algeria University, he also said that there are numerous areas for developing cooperation.

Tajeddini, for his part, said that he observed the willingness of the Algerian officials to upgrade bilateral ties.

Tajeddini is in Algeria to submit Ahmadinejad's invitation letter to President Bouteflika to attend Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Tehran.
