Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said that imposition of sanctions by the global arrogance has made more talents to flourish in Iran, IRNA reported.
Brigadier General pourdastan made the remarks in a ceremony marking the birth anniversary of Hazrat Abbas (AS) (son of third Shia Imam Hussein (AS)) and War Disabled Day.
"During 1980-88 Iran-Iraq War (Iraqi-imposed war against Iran), Iran showed that unilateral sanctions and limitations imposed by the global arrogance against Iran did not prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from achieving its objectives and making progress," the army commander added.
He noted that despite the sanctions and limitations imposed by the West, Iran managed to make considerable progress and achievements in different fields, including defense section.
"We will take necessary measures for defending the country while avoiding to make any concessions to any foreign country," Brigadier General Pourdastan added.
He said that the global arrogance by plotting against democrat countries wants to exert more pressure on them and bring about changes in those countries.
