US, Israel source of international tyranny - Ali Larijani

The United States of America and Israel are sources of international tyranny and oppression, Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said, IRNA reported.

Larijani made the remarks Thursday during his speech at the 8th International Conference on Mahdaviat Doctrine in Tehran.

'Western imperialism and Israel are on the verge of collapse; US and its allies are doing their best to deviate Muslim nations; West's current anti-Syrian activities and its support for the armed opposition there is due to President Bashar al-Assad's administration's support for resistance against occupying force of Israel ,' Majlis speaker said.

The 8th International Conference of Mahdaviat Doctrine started here Thursday morning with the participation of domestic and foreign scholars and experts.

Participants of the two-day conference are to study Mahdaviat as well as the issue of publicity works expected to be made by media in the Islamic world.

Mahdaviat is a religious term in Twelver Shia Islam meaning 'belief in and efforts to prepare for reappearance of the twelfth Shia Imam Mahdi (SA).'
