The decision to return its ambassador to Tehran was a decision made by the government of Bahrain but Tehran is not yet ready to do so as long as the Muslim people of Bahrain are continued to be suppressed," Deputy Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said, IRIB News reported.
Iran and Bahrain had recalled their ambassadors after Iran sided with protesters in Bahrain and condemned the royal family for suppressing their rights.
Amir Abdollahian called on the Bahraini rulers to prepare grounds for a dialogue with the opposition and give in to the democratic demands of its people.
Bahrain is predominantly Shiite, like Iran, but is ruled by Sunni Muslims.
