Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and Africa Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined that negative effects of Syrian security situation on Lebanon is not acceptable and Iran firmly supports Lebanon as a member of resistance axis, IRNA reported.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Saturday.
Amir Abdollahian, in the meeting, discussed bilateral relations and signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with Premier Mikati and expressed Iran's readiness to implement all MoUs.
He said that Syrian situation is improving and armed terrorists are being defeated, adding that Iran supports wise stance of Syrian nation and confirms proposed reforms of President Bashar al-Assad.
Referring to the US media reports concerning possibility of existing chemical weapons in Syria, Amir Abdollahian stressed that it is just a claim by the US media in direction of the US and other enemies of Syrian nation policies.
