Iran-Slovakia call for expansion of ties

Iran’s plenipotentiary and extraordinary Ambassador to Vienna and accredited Ambassador to Slovak Republic Hassan Tajik met with State Secretary of Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Slovak Republic Peter Burian and submitted a copy of his credentials, IRNA reported.

Iran's plenipotentiary and extraordinary Ambassador to Vienna and accredited Ambassador to Slovak Republic Hassan Tajik met with State Secretary of Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Slovak Republic Peter Burian and submitted a copy of his credentials, IRNA reported.

In the meeting, the two sides considered capacities for expansion of relations and expressed hope for developing ties. The Slovak senior diplomat underlined necessity of settling Iran's nuclear issue through diplomatic ways.

Slovak Republic is located in central Europe and its capital is Bratislava. It neighbors are Czech Republic and Austria in the west, Poland in the north, Ukraine in the east and Hungry in the south.

The Republic separated from Czechoslovakia in 1993 and the independent state of Slovak Republic emerged.

In 2004, it joined European Union and in 2009 Euro Zone.
