Iranian police started implementing new project of deploying women as watchmen in female prisons across the country, ISNA reported.

Thus far, women who will be working inside prisons, have been undergoing special training within Iranian Police Prison protection unit.

The training period for these women will last for 6 months, and will include such courses as physical inspections, transportation of prisoners and so on.

Earlier, Iranian police said it will be enlisting women to work as security guards in the country, ISNA reported citing Head of Police Department for Crime Preventing, Colonel Nasser Sefiyan.

Sefiyan noted that the latest police plan for preventing daily crimes includes enlisting women as security guards at malls, parks, places of residence, and so on.

The Colonel noted that such move would help to prevent women thieves and men dressed as women from stealing things.

From this point of view, Sefiyan noted, that hiring women as security guards is important.

According to Sefiyan, using women security guards would help to prevent abuse of security cameras installed in malls and other facilities, as well as help to improve businesses in the country, aside from preventing various theft attempts.
