The hostility between Iran and Israel may lead to a 'physical conflict', the commander of Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Mohammad Ali Jafari told on Saturday, Mehr reported.
"We take Israilian threats seriously and this may result with a physical conflict," he said.
He added that Iran has increased its power to 'fight with enemies'.
"If they will make an attempt to attack us they will meet a strong confrontation," Jafari said.
He added that Iran has enought power to protect itself from Israel as well as other states in need of protection.
Iran and Israel have clashed at the annual meeting of the UN atomic agency, further throwing into doubt the conference on creating a Middle East free of nuclear weapons, planned for 2012.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently prodded the administration of President Barack Obama to draw "red lines" for Iran over its disputed nuclear program.
Netanyahu demanded in a round of interviews at the weekend that Washington and the rest of the world tell Tehran that, if Iran crossed a certain point, military force would be used against it.
