Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: Western countries breach nations’ rights

Islamic Republic of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Monday western countries taking disadvantage of their influence at UN Security Council breach independent countries' rights, IRNA reported.

Stressing the need for safeguarding the international security, Ahmadinejad who is in New York to attend the annual UN General Assembly for the 8th time during his last year of tenure as the IRI president, criticized the western imposed sanctions against Iran's peaceful nuclear program, considering them obvious violation of the Islamic Republic's rights.

Ahmadinejad who was speaking at a General Assembly session titled 'The Rule of Laws' focused his criticism mainly at the United States, France, and Britain, emphasizing that the laws must be implemented impartially for every country, adding, "Discriminatory bonuses, playing effective and imposed roles at the UN Security Council, and the veto right for only some countries, some of which are deprived of the required legitimacy to own it, have all in all turned the UNSC into an organ that is incapable of observing international justice, and the rule of order and sustainable security at global level."

The rotating head of the NAM further reiterated, "Today we are witnesses to the fact that some veto power holders either remain silent about the forged Zionist regime's nuclear bombs, or support them, but simultaneously they create obstacles in the way of scientific advancement of the other nations", - he added.

Ahmadinejad condemned the erroneous quoting of the UN Charter and taking disadvantage of it aimed at insulting the sanctities of the human society and the divine messengers of God, arguing, "The same people meanwhile forbid asking questions about a historical issue, or doing research work about it, considering them crimes punishable by prison terms!"

The Iranian president has had meetings with the Iranians living, or residing in US and the UN secretary general thus fat in his year's visit of New York.
